Durham Cricket Academy: Geoff Cook

Former Durham Head Coach, Geoff Cook was massively involved in starting Durham CCC on their development as a 1st Class County and in the formation of the Durham Cricket Academy.

Cook who was born in Middlesbrough played for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club, before joining Durham in 1991.

Durham have enjoyed a massively successful time under Geoff Cook, winning their first major title at Lord’s in 2007, in addition to winning the County Championship in 2008, 2009 and 2013 and winning another Lord’s Final in 2014.

Geoff now plays an important role in youth development at Durham CCC and Northumberland, and I caught up with him for Boundary6 about his time with Durham Academy.
